Not just little girls like to hang upside down and cartwheel until they’re too dizzy to stand upright. Who wouldn’t like to one minute be spinning around a bar and then the next minute have total control and balance whilst walking along something not much wider than your mobile phone.
At Ballarat Gymsports we take the Australian Levels Program (ALP) very seriously and provide opportunities for WAG gymnasts to compete currently up to and including Level 9.
In 2024, Under our International Coach, we have created a new Development program open to all interested female gymnasts. The program is based on the FIG age divisions and also incorporates the Victorian and Australian Development structures. If this is something that interests you, please contact Reception who will be able to provide further information.
Our International and Australian coaches are a dedicated group with the team consisting of qualified School teachers, University presenters (gymnastics and sports medicine field), Gymnastics Australia and Victoria course presenters to Coaches participating in the Victorian High Performance Centre programs, plus others from the ranks of retired gymnasts, all of whom are registered and accredited with Gymnastics Australia, and who are all furthering their coaching qualifications. This means that Ballarat Gymsports boasts the highest qualified team of coaches in the Western Region of Victoria.
During 2024, Ballarat Gymsports continues to add even more equipment and currently boasts the latest and newest apparatus including a carbon fibre 15m x 15m sprung floor, Rod Tumble and 2 Air Floors, 3 Trampolines, 3 large foam pits, large air pit, 3 sets of WAG Uneven Bars, 10 Single Bars, 8 Beams, 3 Vaults and even a dedicated strength/core area and dance studio to assist in the development of our gymnasts.
Our girls successfully compete around Victoria in Metropolitan, Regional and State Championship events. It is nothing to have Gymsports being represented every second weekend somewhere in Victoria.
IT TAKES MORE THAN A LEOTARD
At Gymsports we know and understand that it takes more than dazzling leotards and lots of chalk to allow our gymnasts to achieve their goals. That’s why we employ a team of Choreographers, Exercise Specialists and have partnered with one of Ballarat’s leading Medical teams.
Ballarat Gymsports is fortunate to have a close relationship with a number of local Allied Health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Myotherapists, Chiropractors, Sports Trainers, and Nutritionists. New to 2024 sees Gymsports partner with Chris Radford and his amazing team at the RADCentre to provide our athletes and families the most comprehensive support covering all forms of rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Gymnasts have the ability to also enroll in our Advanced Tumbling & Tramp, Flex, Dance, and Private sessions.
