COVID-19 ACTION PLAN – UPDATED

We have made the decision after consulting our medical team and relevant Peer and Peak bodies, to move to a State 3 (Partial) of our Action Plan, this means the following programs have been suspended until a review date of April 13th:

# ALL Inclusive programs – Fuzzy Gym, All Abilities, Fitter For Life, Special Olympics and all 1 on 1 Privates
# TeamGym and Open Session
# All other classes will run but under the reduced 10 minute reduction at the end of each session to minimise numbers on change over periods.
# We ask that unless it is necessary to stay at the gym, parents and spectators limit their time and preferably drop off and pick up athletes.

We are working around the clock to ensure minimal distruption to classes, but where numbers are light in numbers may be joined with another group.

The club is also working with our leading coaches and others towards being able to deliver an online based activity program for ALL members in the event that we do have to suspend direct contact coaching activities. More information to follow.

State 1.
Heightened state of cleaning & Disinfection practice implemented
Classes and sessions as per schedules
Introduction of personal care and coach monitoring as per signage

State 2.
Minor restructed timetable and schedule changes
All classes to finish 10 minutes earlier to limit person to person interactions
No Private classes
Athletes and coaches in the gym – preference for parents and spectators not to remain

State 3.
Major classes timetable and schedule changes for seniors (MAG & WAG) to early mornings or other times
No Private classes or make-ups
Athletes and coaches only in in the gym – NO parents or spectators

State 4.
Gym closure, all classes cancelled pending further notice.

Remember: tough times don’t last, but tough people do. Together we can do this.

COVID-19 ACTION PLAN – UPDATED

With this morning’s Federal Government announcement, we have updated our ACTION PLAN to that of State 2. As we have already seen, the COVID-19 situation is changing on an almost hourly basis, we have  published the following action plan to implement as per the current government, peak bodies, & WHO advice.

Tuesday participants and parents were amazing and we congratulate you all for taking on our policies and working alongside us to keep a safe and clean environment for everyone!

The main changes effective immediately being enforced:

  1. Classes will FINISH 10 minutes earlier than normal times to allow for fewer people in the crossover period. Parents and carers are reminded to please be aware of this time change to assist with participant movements.
  2. We have reduced and distanced the number of spectator chairs to enforce the social distancing recommendations. This means we do not have many spaces so would first ask those parents of participants training greater than 1 hour to “drop off and pick up”.

State 1.
Heightened state of cleaning & Disinfection practice implemented
Classes and sessions as per schedules
Introduction of personal care and coach monitoring as per signage

State 2.  (CURRENT)
Minor restructed timetable and schedule changes
All classes to finish 10 minutes earlier to limit person to person interactions

State 3.
Major classes timetable and schedule changes for seniors (MAG & WAG) to early mornings or other times
No Private classes or make-ups
Athletes and coaches only in in the gym – NO parents or spectators

State 4.
Gym closure, all classes cancelled pending further notice.

Gymsports hopes you are all fairing well in this uncertain time and would like to remind you that if you are not attending classes due to COVID-19 we require email notification PRIOR to the commencement of your session.

Statement From Gymsports

We understand people’s concerns given the potential seriousness of the situation, but ask our community not to panic, and instead listen to evidence-based, real-time advice of health professionals and government officials.

While coronavirus is of concern, it is important to remember that unless there is an imminent threat of exposure in our area, most people displaying symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or tiredness are likely suffering from a cold or other respiratory illness – not coronavirus.

As a responsible club, we are listening, watching and being guided by the peak bodies in each of our programs plus government and medical authorities. We have increased the cleaning of our facility and are focused on keeping our membership informed on changes as soon as possible, this includes –

  1. paying attention to the National, State and local health authorities guidance;
  2. our daily, weekly and monthly cleaning policies are the most that they can be, and above industry standard; and
  3. our staff have been instructed to report any flu-like symptoms immediately.

Be assured that we are aware taking all appropriate measures to ensure the wellbeing of our staff members, athletes and families.

Ballarat Gymsports classes and sessions are running as advertised, so please continue to bring participants along to help normalise life especially for our younger population. If this changes, those affected will be immediately notified by the club via SMS, Email, Social Media and where required telephone.

We have also implemented an updated Gym Hygiene policy which is available below. This has been taken from information provided by GA, GV, AASCF and ACSA.

In addition, the following information provides the latest updates from the Australian Dept of Health

https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-resources

During this period we ask that those who are suffering/displaying from flu like symptoms, avoid attending sessions, remain at home and rest up and follow medical advice. Our staff have been instructed to report to management any participants who display flu like symptoms for a decision on possible removal from the session.

We appreciate your understanding and support for the club through this period of time and will provide updates here as they come to hand.
