What an incredible opportunity to spend the afternoon with Cassy Geffki, Australia's most successful Special Olympics gymnast at the 2017 Victoria Victorian Championships. The event was the first time Gymnastics Victoria and Special Olympics Victoria have combined both their state titles into the one super competition. Drew, Sam and myself attended the Official Opening at the State Netball and Hockey Centre on Sunday 11th June and were so impressed with not only the competition but the reaction and fantastic support to every athlete by fellow competitors, officials and the great crowd. We are so lucky to be part of this inclusive organisation and look forward to Cassy and some SO athletes coming to our launch on July 3rd here at Gymsports. Thanks to Simon at SO Vic and Kerry from GV for inviting us along.

On Tuesday night (9th May), Don had the opportunity to meet with the Ballarat Special Olympics Committee members to discuss how Ballarat Gymsports could be involved in offering our range of amazing sports and coaching skills. Don was very impressed by everyone of the members with their dedication and passion to ensure that more sports are open to as many people as possible, including the possibility of gymnastics. Thank you to Tom McCarthy from Ballarat's Sports Central and Kerry Tavrou from Gymnastics Victoria who arranged for Don to be able to attend. Kerry and Tom have been working with Gymsports on a number of other exciting opportunities which we look forward to promoting the benefits and fun of Gymsports activities in the area. We look forward to a visit from the Special Olympics - Ballarat members and being able to announce some new offerings to it's current and future members very soon. If you know of someone who you think would be interested in joining a pilot gymnastics program within the Special Olympics categories, please contact us at Gymsports.

On Sunday 7th May Gymsports hosted the latest Advanced Module 1 course here in Ballarat. Coaches attended from as far as Gisborne. We are so lucky to have had Stacey Taylor (NCE Coach) present the material on behalf of Gymnastics Australia. Nothing like completing the day with Pizza and friendship (Luke S, Stacey T, Drew F and Don P) at Pizza Hut.
